Okanagan Events April 2010

Things To Do During In The Okanagan
During The Month Of April

The Okanagan Events April 2010 Calendar has some great things to do around the region. April is a great month to visit the Okanagan Valley!

With spring in full gear, fruit trees are blossoming (it's also allergy season for many!), the winter clouds are definitely gone, and many are out enjoying hiking and biking trails. Many April events take to the outdoors! Also, campgrounds and RV parks are open.

Public Canadian Holidays in April 2010, with dates for Easter, includes Good Friday, April 2, and Easter Monday (April 5). Because Easter Monday is considered a holiday at the National level, federal and other government agencies such as post offices are closed. But banks remain open on this day.

Art & Culture
Every year at the end of April, schools and communities across British Columbia host a mosaic of events and activities as part of Arts and Culture Week. Look for special displays and events in communities throughout the Okanagan. Many businesses partner with local artists in a month-long Art Walk event. You find beautiful artworks displayed in local downtown windows and shops, as well as a number of Okanagan wineries. Arts and Culture Week 2010 will be held April 18-24. Many Okanagan wineries are opening their doors for tours and tasing, and many have beautiful patios and restaurants for enjoying a nice meal.

Farmer's Markets - Many farmer's markets begin in April, including the ones listed here. Click here to see all farmers markets in the region. And in case you get hungry or thirsty (wink), you can find many great places to eat around the region.
