Okanagan July events, festivals and celebrations are plentiful. The July 1 Canada Day holiday is a busy long weekend holiday and the start of summer vacation.

Here are just some of the wonderful summer celebrations and festivals that we can enjoy.

Westside Daze - West Kelowna

Westside Daze in West Kelowna, or Westbank BC, is a weekend of fun, food and entertainment, with lots of FREE stuff, outdoor concerts, a parade, 'Moto Cross', Westcoast Amusements, firewords, BBQ, slow pitch ball tournament and a kids fair.

It runs for 4 days, over the July 1st, Canada Day holiday!

Show & Shine, Pancake Breakfast, Giant Canada Day Cake with cutting by local, provincial and federal politicians, evening Entertainment, Youth Day with stage entertainment, demonstrations, Aboriginal Day with Entertainment, cultural demonstrations, food by First Nation people, crafters, vendors, and much more.

Okanagan Lavender Discovery Days

Lavender harvest, a visually spectacular time at the Okanagan Lavender Herb farm overlooking Okanagan Lake.

Explore the culinary side of lavender, learn how to create fresh herbal teas from the garden and take pleasure in the beauty of a fragrant lavender harvest.

You can also learn the Victorian art of weaving lavender wands and watch demonstrations of creating lavender wreaths, bouquets and wedding favours.

Osoyoos Cherry Fiesta - Osoyoos, BC

If you're in Osoyoos BC on the July long weekend, the annual Cherry Fiesta is a must do!

It's a great holiday weekend filled with fun entertainment, a pancake breakfast, parade, crafts and foods fair, lots of fun activities for kids, a pie eating competition, a cherry pit spitting competition, and a fantastic fireworks show that evening.

Funtastic Sports & Music Festival Vernon - Vernon

The Vernon Funtastic Festival features an adult Slo Pitch Tournament & a Music Festival with various performers.

The Festival grounds are located 2 Minutes South of Vernon on Hwy 97. The ball tournament is an adult tournament and takes place rain or shine. There are more than 300 teams participating in this tournamet!

Komasket Music Festival - Vernon BC

Civic Sounds - Vernon

The Civic Plaza in Downtown Vernon is alive from 7:00pm until 9:00pm every Thursday night in July & August!

Enjoy free musical entertainment by local, national & international musicians, weather permitting.

Shuswap Festival of the Arts

The Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts Society was formed in 1984. Since then the festival has become one of the best art festivals in the region, showcasing beautiful works from many local artists.

Cherry Fair - Kelowna

Celebrate the harvest of the cherry with the BC Orchard Industry Museum's annual Cherry Fair. Live entertainment, cherry tastings, hands-on activities for the whole family.

This is your opportunity to sample a selection of over two dozen local cherry varieties. Face painting, mini-golf, live entertainment, and fun for the whole family! There is also mini donuts, ice cream, and more!!

O'Keefe Days - Vernon BC

O'Keefe Days at the historic ranch just outside of Vernon BC has an annual 'Cowboy Festival Ranch rodeo' with a campfire, cowboy poetry, fun kids activities and more for families.

Early ranches in the Okanagan and British Columbia, were their own communities with a post office, blacksmith shop and a church. There are a number of historic buildings and interesting displays from the cattle ranching days in the Okanagan Valley.
