My Okanagan Favorite Fun Kids ActivitiesTop Attractions According To Our Top Kid
Welcome to My Okanagan top kid friendly attractions! Who better to tell you about all the vacation fun kids activities in the Okanagan Canada than our very own! Hi there, my name is Colten, and I'm the top travel adviser for the kids part of our website. I share all the fun summer activities for kids and the winter activities for kids too. I have lived here all my life, and I keep my mom super busy traveling around and making sure I don't miss out on any fun ;-) We love the outdoors, meeting people and we love to make new friends wherever we go. So if you see me somewhere, be sure to stop and say hello! I'll want to know that you're having a great time and that my Okanagan pages helped you find fun things to do. My friendly vacation tips from one kid to another...
We're always careful about making sure we protect ourselves from sunburn and when we are out
exploring in areas we don't know well, I remind my mom about hiking and outdoor safety
and we always keep our eyes out
I'm really glad I was in Cubs & Scouts too! I learned some oh, and be sure your parents read it too! Now let's get back to fun for kids....In the summer time we like to go to the beach, swim in the lakes, play mini golf, biking, hiking, and camping, and find new things to do that we haven't done before, like para sailing over Okanagan Lake. I'll be adding more and more of my favorite attractions and adventures to these pages all the time, so be sure to visit often! And here are some of my favorite things to do...
When we visit the city of Vernon BC, we always spend a day at Atlantis Waterslides. This is one of the best fun summer activities for kids around! Captain can't come here with us, but it would be fun if they had a doggy slide! We always like to take our friends with us too!
Planet Bee Honey Farm in Vernon BC is a fun and educational Okanagan attraction. We learned about how bees make honey, watched them through a safe glass window, and tasted some yummy honey treats.
We visit Bear's Farm Market in Keremeos BC every fall to find the best pumkins for halloween! There's also lots of fresh Okanagan fruit and vegetables at the market, and other nearby attractions that we enjoy.
Farmer John's Petting Zoo is filled with fun farm animals of all kinds; rabbits, "Danny Boy" the kissing llama, goats, chickens, exotic birds, alpaca's, pigs, and ponies. We toured around on the petting zoo wagon, helped feed some of the animals and played with the rabbits.
Keremeos Grist Mill & Gardens has lots of antique farm machinery. We toured around the mill and learned about how flour was made many years ago. They even had this cool bread oven made of mud!
Tickleberrie's old fashioned ice cream parlor in OK Falls, is my Okanagan favorite place to get the best ice cream in the world! The hardest part is deciding which flavor! Captain always gets his ice cream! The O'Keefe Ranch has all kinds of things to see and do. Loads of farm animals, a blacksmith shop, historic buildings with antique guns from the west, a saddle shop and a pottery barn. And everyone there was dressed like they did in the old western days.
My Okanagan favorite outdoor music festival is the Penticton Elvis Festival. Mom loves the music and I love the food! We spend the whole weekend at the park, and the weather is always great! And if you're 12 and under, your free!
If you visit Parrot Island Bird Sanctuary you may want to take ear plugs! Though very friendly, the birds are also very loud. Also, please consider taking a food donation to help support these beautiful birds.
We love to float the Penticton River Channel! It's by far, one of the best fun summer activities for kids, and one of my Okanagan favorites! If you're in Penticton you simply can't miss out on this! Bring a snorkel and mask, lots to drink, and climb aboard your floaty! We also like to ski and snowboard in the winter. Winter in the Okanagan Valley British Columbia is nothing compared to Saskatchewan Canada, where my uncles, aunts, and cousins live. The weather here is mild, and it doesn't get that cold.
Apex is where I learned to alpine ski at age 4. Now I mostly snowboard, which I really love! It's a great ski resort with lots of runs that are easy to learn on and challenge you as you get better. I'm alway adding new favorites to my Okanagan activities and attractions, so check back here often! If you have questions about what's happening for kids, and you haven't found it here on my Okanagan page, you can send us an email. My mom and I get lots of emails, and questions, and we'll answer you as quickly as possible - usually in a day or two. |
