Okanagan June FestivalsFun June Events & CelebrationsIn the Okanagan there are a number of fun June festivals, events and celebrations to start off summer in the Valley. Many are kid friendly and family oriented festival and events as we enjoy early summer weather.
The month of June is also when cherries begin to harvest and farmer's markets are open pretty much everywhere.
Fat Cat Children's Festival - Kelowna
The Festival takes place at Waterfront Park in downtown Kelowna, regardless of weather. Admission is cheap and kids 2 and under are free; and with admission most of the activities on site are free - except for food. There's also a parade on Saturday morning of the festival which starts at the corner of Richter and Bernard and works its way to Water Street, then to the festival site at Waterfront Park. Waterfront Park is next to The Grand Hotel Kids should be well prepared with hats and sunscreen, and be sure to bring cash as there are no bank machines on the site.

Sunshine Festival - Vernon BC The Vernon Sunshine Festival is the largest street fair & sidewalk sale in the North Okanagan. In 2009, about 12,000 people attended this, one of the biggest June festivals. Stroll through downtown Vernon BC and find cool bargains, enjoy live entertainment, fun activities for kids, street cafes, art & cultural performances, a rock climbing wall, 2 entertainment stages, 2-3 bounce and plays, pony rides and professional face painting.

Pacific Northwest Elvis Festival - Penticton BC A totally fun-filled weekend, and a favorite of many June festivals, celebrating the life & music of the one & only Elvis Presley. There are great live stage shows with renowned Elvis tribute artists, judged competitions, gospel music showcase & celebrity guests from Elvis's life. Penticton Peach City Beach Cruise
This huge, fun 3 day event kicks off summer in Penticton, and once coincides with the Penticton Elvis Festival. Hundreds of cool classic cars and antique cars cruise the city and are displayed at Okanagan Beach along with great entertainment, lots of food and a fun midway for everyone. Friday evening there's the 'Parade of Show Cars' down Main street Penticton as all the show cars cruise to the beach then park their cars for display. Some favorite entertainers include the Blues Brothers Tribute. If you can be here for this event, it's one of the best in the Okanagan! Shuswap Dragon Boat Festival - Salmon Arm
Rowing has been a part of outdoor leisure and recreation in the Okanagan for many years. A Dragonboat race is a colorful, exciting event to watch as boats with teams of rowers glide across the waters to the beat of a drum! The Salmon Arm Dragon Boat Festival is a very popular event in the Shuswap. It features about 16 teams made up of either mixed or all women.

Creative Chaos Craft Show - Vernon The largest craft sale in Western Canada. The Creative Chaos Craft Show has over 200 artisans & crafters in 3 buildings, a food faire with performing arts & creative activities. NO ADMISSION CHARGE
