Winter, Spring, & Fall Celebrations

If you plan your visit during one of three Okanagan Wine Festival events throughout the year you'll enjoy a food and wine festival that celebrates gourmet wine and food, wine education and some of the best BC wine tasting events.

It's a perfect time to visit an Okanagan winery, to learn about and share in their traditions of winemaking, wine and food pairing, and it's also an opportunity to attend many events, educational seminars, and wine tasting.

There are three wine festivals each year. Prior to 2013, there was also a summer wine festival, but this has been cancelled.

Winter Festival Of Wine

This event takes place in January, and is considered the most unique of all the Okanagan wine festivals, which features British Columbia's Canadian Ice Wine. The event takes place at Sun Peaks Resort, near Kamloops BC, where you can also take in that much needed winter ski vacation ;-)

Spring Wine Festival

This festival takes place during the first ten days in May each year, and celebrates the upcoming grape growing season.

Near the end of April, spring has usually sprung already, fruit trees and flowers are budding, and the Interior British Columbia weather is nice and warm, especially in the South Okangan Valley. There are generally over 100 events to take in over this weekend event, and you can visit most wineries as they open their doors for a new season.

~~Okanagan Summer Wine Festival - CANCELLED~~

This event used to held during the second weekend in August, every year, formerly at Silver Star Resort near the city of Vernon BC, but no longer exists.

In addition to wine seminars, art, music, and culture are highlights of this festival, along with outdoor summer recreation. Many activities were part of the celebration including, wine tasting, dinners, wine and food pairing, and entertainment occurs outdoors in the fresh air and under the warm Okanagan sun!

Fall Wine Festival

This is the only festival of it's kind in North America, which is held during the grape harvest time. It runs over ten days in early October, with over 165 events throughout the entire Okanagan BC wine region.

The fall wine festival is one of the best festivals to experience vineyard tours, lunches, dinners, unique events and the fall wine harvest celebrations. The festival events are focused on gourmet wine, food, arts, and education and is the largest Okanagan wine festival.
