events are kid and family friendly. Here are the highlights for August.
Rarearth Music Fest - Vernon BC

Mount Kobau Star Party - Osoyoos BC Mt. Kobau
Dates: Dusk August 7 until dawn August 15, 2010
Serious star gazers and amateur observers from across North America meet at Mt. Kobau to explore the night sky for a whole week.
Mt. Kobau summit is approximately 1,860 m (6,100 feet). Here you can not only watch the stars, but also spend a day hiking and exploring
the grasslands region.
Location: Follow highway 3 from Osoyoos west 11 km (7 miles) to the Kobau Lookout Forest Road, then follow the rough forest road to the summit.
Once at the summit you'll see access to the trail.

Bluegrass & Country Music Festival - Osoyoos BC
Dates: August 7 - 10, 2010
Four days of bluegrass and country entertainment.
Listen only or bring your own musical instruments and join in the jam sessions and band scrambles.

18th Annual Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival - Salmon Arm BC
Dates: Fri August 13, 2010 - Sun August 15, 2010
The Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival is the premiere multicultural music festival of the British Columbia
Interior featuring 50 acts on 6 outdoor stages. The festival showcases exhilarating world rhythms,
stirring roots and gospel music, and the low-down steamiest blues on the planet.
Site amenities include two beverage gardens, artisan market, food vendor area, children's area, pre-registered camping.
Children 12 and under are free.

Romancing the Desert - Osoyoos BC

Princeton Traditional Music Festival - Princeton BC

A free, three-day festival of traditional music from the southern interior, BC & elsewhere.
Friday night's dance on the street is followed by two days of concerts, presentations & jams from over one hundred performers.

Chase Annual Corn Festival - Chase BC

The annual corn festival is a family fun event. Wakeboarding demos & lessons,
tube/boat rides, skate boarding competition, traditional first nations games, bannock, bocce, horseshoes, music & of
course Shuswap world famous corn.

Subaru Ironman Canada - Penticton BC
Dates: August 29, 2010
Subaru Iron Man Canada Triathlon is an annual event in Penticton BC.
Iron Man competitors swim, bike, and run. This event starts at 7 a.m. and runs through the late evening.

Neskonlith Traditional Pow Wow - Chase BC
Dates: August 21-22, 2010
Annual First Nations celebration includes dancing, singing, crafts, food concessions & traditional foods such as bannock.
The grand entry takes place at noon on both days. The public is welcome & there this event is free of charge.
