Custom, Classic Cars & Bike Shows In The Okanagan BC
If you love cars and bike shows you'll find a number of car shows and bike shows in the Okanagan. From vintage to modern cars, trucks, motorcycles, these family friendly events always draw a lot people both locally and visitors.
Peachland World of Wheels
Peachland World of Wheels (WOW) Show and Shine is one of the biggest car and bike shows in the interior BC, with more than 550 cars, trucks, motorcycles and antique boats, and more than 10,000 people attend to see the cars and bike show event.
It's on during the May long weekend.
World of Wheels began in 1997 in downtown Peachland, and is a family friendly event. There's food, live bands and fun things for kids. This fun Okanagan cars and bike show takes place at Cousins Park, in Peachland BC, and throughout downtown Peachland. Cousins Park is located on Beach Avenue and 6th Street, next to Peachland Community Center, and across from Swim Bay and Yacht Club. Google Map directions here.
Knox Mountain Hill Climb
The Knox Mountain Hill climb takes place on the May long weekend in Kelowna BC. It's known as the longest annual running paved hillclimb event in North America, and has been taking place for more than 50 years. The climb is 3.5 km (2.2 mi) of paved public roadway, climbing approximately 244 m (800 ft), through 9 major corners. All car classes from go-kart & 4x4's to Formula Ford, Formula Atlantic & even Indy cars attend. If you love cars and bike events, this climb is a lot of fun to watch. The Peach city beach cruise coincides with the Penticton Elvis Festival every year in June, kicking off summer in the Penticton Okanagan area. This is a fun family event and attracts thousands of people because there's so much going on. The beach cruise has a 'beach to beach' cruise on the Friday evening. All the custom and classic cars parade from Skaha Lake to Okanagan Lake beach. There's more than 700 cars, so it's quite a sight. Then, the cars line up all along Okanagan beach, Show Cars line up along the 'Magic Mile' which runs along Lakeshore Drive and the beachfront. There's so many vehicles it's hard to pick a favorite!
This car show runs for three days and also puts on a Collector Car Auction. There's outdoor entertainment and food vendors at the Gyro Park bandshell all weekend. The first Peach City Beach Cruise took place in 2001 with only about 250 classic and antique vehicles. Today the event shows nearly 800 vehicles and attracts thousands of people.
Lake Country Customs and Classic Car Show
The Customs & Classic Car Show in Lake Country BC takes place on the third Sunday in August. It used to be the Field Of Dream Show and Shine car show in Kelowna, and in now on it's fifth year in Lake Country. The show highlights a variety of more than 350 classic cars, muscle cars, trucks, as well as new vehicles from local car dealerships. It's a fun family fundraising event that supports the local Lake Country community. There's live entertainment that plays music from the 50's and 60's, food vendors, a raffle, and also a skate park and water park at the venue, so kids can have some fun too.
The car show is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free and donations are accepted at the gate for the Lake Country Food Bank. The car show takes place at Swallwell Park, at 10090 Bottom Wood Lake Rd, Lake Country, BC.
Hot Rods Classic Antique Car Show - Salmon Arm
The annual Classic Antique Car Show in Salmon Arm takes place in August each year at the R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum. The car show displays more than a hundred classic and antique automobiles. There's a pancake breakfast and barbeque lunch, entertainment, and there's also awards for people's choice of favorite cars in the show. The RJ Haney Heritage Museum has a lot of great events throughout the summmer.
Boyd's Annual Father's Day Charity Car Show
The annual Father's Day car show in Kelowna is put on by Boyd's AutoBody & Glass and has been a favorite event for locals and visitor's to the Okanagan who love cars and bike shows for many years. The show has been in existance for 15 years. This show has more than 500 cars from vintage to modern vehicles.
This is a family event, with activities for kids including face painting and a bouncy castle, food and other vendors and live musical entertainment. The car show attracts many people for the one day show and raises money for various local charities. The show takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and has been held at Kelowna City Park, next to Okanagan Lake, for the past few years. Parking is limited, so if you attend you may have to park in the downtown Kelowna area if you can't find a spot at the park. Admission is free for the public.
