There are about 25 South Okanagan campgrounds RV Parks and private campsites to choose from. The Southern Okanagan is situated at the northern tip of the Sonora Desert, in the Great Basin Desert Region. Summer temperatures are commonly in the high 30's°C, and the climate is semi arid.

We've organised these listings south to north from Osoyoos, to Oliver, Okanagan Falls, Kaleden, Penticton, Summerland/Trout Creek, Naramata and Peachland.

In addition to the wine, golf, beautiful lakes, and beaches, you'll find so much to explore in this desert region including the South Okanagan Grasslands Protected Area and Mt. Kobau, one of the best places in Canada for star gazing!

The Kettle Valley Trail runs throughout the South Okanagan valley, and Skaha Bluffs, attracts rock climbers to scale its walls in three parallel canyons.

Take some time to visit the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory, an astrophysics research centre that uses radio telescopes to collect the natural radio signals from space, also in the protected grasslands near White Lake.
