Farmer John's Petting Zoo
Animals And Exotic Birds
Keremeos British Columbia
Farmer John's petting zoo animals and exotic birds make for a fun stop on a day trip around the Okanagan Similkameen Valley!
After visiting Bear's Fruit Market, and picking out the best pumpkin we could find, we continue on to our next stop...
We visited in the fall when the weather is still nice and warm.
And the landscape surrounding the Keremeos village is much more colorful.
We saw all kinds of animals and exotic birds.
Guinea pigs, pot belly pigs, donkeys, different types of goats, rabbits, peacocks....,
.....and one special lama!
He's a very friendly lama.
He likes to kiss the visitors!
We got to feed her along with some of the other animals.
Daisy was due to have a little daisy when we saw her here.
And she was very hungry!!
You can walk around the petting zoo to see the animals, or you can ride the tour wagons if you wish. The kids like the ride!
We brought our own picnic lunch, and enjoyed it at the outdoor tables.
You can also buy hot dogs, drinks, milkshakes, floats and ice cream at the concession.
There's a small, cozy country style parlor indoors as well, if you prefer to eat inside.
Walk Through The Orchard
You can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the fruit orchard on the petting zoo property.
Danny Boy doesn't watch you....
but the trees sure seem like they do!
Admission is a reasonable $5, and helps in maintaining the farm.
Farmer John's also does group bookings and events like birthday parties. It's best to book ahead for those!
And if you're there at the right time of day, you may have an opportunity to help feed the friendly animals!
Farmer John's Petting Zoo animals and exotic bird farm
is open from March to October, 7 days a week from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

There are other neat places to visit in the Keremeos area, like the Old Grist Mill,
just down the road from Farmer John's Petting Zoo.
The Dominion Radio-Astrophysical Observatory, is located nearby on White Lake Road. It's the only place in Canada where there are uninterrupted radio waves!
There are also some great wineries around Keremeos and the Okanagan Similkameen Valley, between Keremeos and Osoyoos.
