The Monashee Mountains, a subrange of the Columbia Mountains, stretch all the way from Valemount BC, south into Washington State. Cedar Falls Campground & RV Park - Vernon BC

All-season wilderness camping 10 minutes from downtown Vernon, and easy access to Silver Star Mountain; Large treed private full and partial servic RV sites, tenting sites, hot showers, flush toilets, laundromat, firepits, group sites, cabin, seasonal store, near town. Pet policy. Open May 15 - Sept 15

Swan Lake Recreation Resort - Vernon BC

Silver Star RV Park & Camping - Vernon BC

Swan Lake RV Park and Campground - Vernon BC

Newport Beach Recreation Area - Vernon BC Closed October 2011

Open May 15-Oct. 15, R.V. park, family oriented, treed sites, fishing, swimming, store, marina, snack bar, boat rentals, gas and launch.

Kekuli Bay Campground - Vernon BC

Location: 11 km. south of Vernon on Hwy 97
70 limited shade, open sites and a day use and picnic area, with views of Kalamalka lake, 2.6 km of trails available on-site. An active train track separates the campground from beach and boat launch. Kekuli Bay Provincial Park

Cherryville

Sugar Lake Recreation Sites - Cherryville BC

Location: 50 km east of Vernon on Hwy 6; left at Frank's Tempo Gas Station at Cherryville on the corner of #6 and Sugar Lake Road. Watch for signs.
Beautiful wilderness lake approximately 14 kilometers long for canoes, kayaks and small fishing boats. (fluctuating water levels and floating natural debris pose serious hazards for power boats and water-skiers - and not recommended) Lake-side sites and the ability to comfortably accommodate large RV's, smaller units and tents, first come first serve, no electric, bring your own drinking water, closest telephone is in Cherryville, no cell service, pets on leash only.
