For visitors who are wondering about Mackie House in Coldstream BC, here's a little history... Mackie Lake House has existed since the early 1900's, when the historic Coldstream Ranch (one of the largest and oldest ranches in British Columbia and once owned by Lord and Lady Aberdeen) was subdivided and planted with apple and pear trees. Mackie Lake House presents a unique situation where, through private philanthropy, a significant heritage house and property have been preserved. Tours of the Lake House tell the story of the Mackie family and showcase the extraordinary and eclectic furnishings and collections preserved greatly by Patrick F. Mackie who willed the property and home to the Mackie Lake House Foundation. Mackie Lake House is situated along the edge of Kalamalka Lake in Coldstream, British Columbia. The home was designed in high-style Arts and Crafts architecture with a unique eastern Canadian influence. Mackie Lake House is beautifully preserved both inside and outside, and retains virtually all of its original building fabric. www.mackiehouse.ca Other Interesting Places To VisitThe Old Grist Mill in Keremeos, BC Osoyoos Desert Centre Osoyoos, BC Haigue-Brown Provincial Park Salmon Arm, BC O'Keefe Ranch Vernon, BC Okanagan Monthly Event Calendar January | February | March | April | May | June | July | August | September | October | November | December
