Kelowna H2O Adventure & Fitness Center

Indoor Fun In The Okanagan BC

We often head to Kelowna H2O Adventure Centre for a day of indoor family fun in the Okanagan Valley.

It comes to mind when we're thinking of what to do in Kelowna that's indoors, on a rainy day, or if we just don't feel like being outdoors.

It's a great place for kids to enjoy the giant waterslides, the wave pool, and the totally fun Flowrider® surf simulator.

The facility is in a beautiful area of the city of Kelowna, right next to the Okanagan Regional Library and the Mission Recreation Park.

If you're new to the Okanagan, Kelowna BC, or you've not been here before, it's very easy to find.

The Flowrider surf simulator is what our kids had the most fun on.

But kids have to be a certain height in order to be allowed to stand up on the surf board.

There's a height measuring chart in the lobby of the centre, so you can check your kids when you go in.

If they're not tall enough to stand on the surf board, they can still go on the Flowrider on their knees or stomach.

Parents must sign a waiver for kids to go on. And you'll need to have some photo ID along with the waiver.

Tip: It's a good idea to have proper swimwear for the Flowrider, like a one-peice suit for girls, or a t-shirt over a two-peice swimsuit, and board shorts. Boys, you'll want to make sure your swim trunks are not too loose around the waist. Trust us on this one! :-)

There's lots of other ways to enjoy fun water activities in a day at Kelowna H2O aside from the Flowrider...

  • there are 3 giant waterslides, about 60, 80, and 90 meters long
  • a wave pool
  • a river run
  • a spray park, water play area with toys, jets and fun spray nozzles
  • an Olympic size pool

And if you want a little exercise, there are 3 gyms where you can go and get your vacation workout. ;-)

Or, if you're like me, I like to sit and watch the kids play while I enjoy a latte. :-)

There's also a snack counter in the lobby where you can grab a bite to eat, or something to drink.

A few things to keep in mind before you go to Kelowna H2O...

  • Children under 8 years of age must be within arms reach of a responsible person 16 yrs or older who is in swimwear.
  • Children ages 8 and 9 yrs cannot be left unattended in Kelowna H2O Centre at any time.
  • Lifejackets are available at no extra charge for public swimming.
  • FlowRider and waterslides have a height requirement of 42 inches or 3' 6". Those 19 years of age or under must have a waiver signed by a parent.
  • Lockers are available, but be sure to bring your own swim towels.

Drop In Rates (at last check in March 2013): for a family up to 2 adults and 3 kids is $25.00. Single admission for youth (13-18) is $6.85 and for kids age 1-12 the cost is $5.85.
