Elephant Island Orchard Winery Naramat BC

Naramata has many beautiful wineries, including Elephant Island orchard wines, all tucked closely together along the hillside of the Naramata Bench.

We stopped at in on our wine tour to try out their famous fruit wines. And if you've never tried fruit wine before, don't rule it out just yet!

The cozy patio is shaded by huge maple trees, surrounded by the orchards fruit trees, and elephant statues here and there.

There is also a small play area for younger children to entertain themselves, not something you'll find in many local BC wineries. We love to take a lot of pictures to show you how beautiful these places are.

And you can take a stroll through their orchard too! Bring your camera!

Wines we tasted were the Black Current, Apricot, Crab Apple and the Pear fruit wine. By far, Black Current was our favorite! Not too sweet, not too tart. Just a peppery punched wine full of flavor.

They said it goes well with anything heavily spiced or salty and fairly oily in consistency - such as Greek Salad with lots of feta. Indeed they were right!

So if you're thinking of trying fruit wines, Elephant Island is a great place to visit.

Here's how to find the winery from the city of Penticton

Follow the signs directing 'to Naramata'.

Once on Naramata Road you will be traveling north, parallel to Lake Okanagan. You will travel for approximately 15 minutes (17 km), and you'll pass 2 signs before reaching the turn off.

The winery is located on the next left immediately after Lake Breeze Winery - at 2730 Aikins Loop.
