Driving From Vancouver BC
---
There are two beautiful routes to follow if you're driving to the Okanagan from Vancouver British Columbia. We've driven both routes, and our favorite is the Hope - Princeton highway to Penticton and Kelowna. (of course, we like to stop a lot!)
The distance through the Coquihalla is a bit shorter, only by about an hour, but the drive through Hwy 3 to Hope and Princeton is incredibly scenic, for those who are not in any hurry.
Via Hwy 1 East to Hope - Then follow either Hwy 5 or Hwy 3 to Kelowna
Via Hwy 5, the Coquihalla Highway connects to Highway 97C - the Coquihalla Connector - then on to Highway 97 North to Kelowna. The distance is about 395 km (237 miles)
Via Hwy 3, the Hope Princeton Highway connects to Highway 97 North to Kelowna (471 km/283 miles)
Driving From Northern BC
---
The distance from Prince George BC to Kelowna is about 714 km, or an 8 hour drive. The driving time between these two cities would be in ideal road conditions.
Via Hwy 97 south & the Coquihalla Connector:
Drive South on Hwy 97 to Kamloops Then take Hwy 5 south to Merritt, which connects to Highway 97C - the Coquihalla Connector to Kelowna
Via Hwy 97 south:
Pass through Cache Creek, Kamloops and Vernon to Kelowna
Driving From Calgary Alberta
---
The Trans Canada Highway connects to Highway 97A South and Highway 97 South to Kelowna (602 km or 361 miles)
Once you get through the Roger's Pass and Revelstoke, BC, you should be prepared for the rest of the trip to take a bit longer.
The roads can become congested in the summer time, mostly due to the 2 lane highway.
Driving From Lethbridge Alberta
---
We've taken the route through the Crowsnest Pass in British Columbia. It's a beautiful drive, the scenery much different than that of the northern route through Banff and the Roger's pass in the Rocky Mountains.
Via Hwy 3:
Travel west through the Crowsnest Pass to Osoyoos BC, then follow Hwy 97 north to Kelowna. The distance of this trip is about 835 km, or 518 miles.
Technically it's just under a ten hour drive, but you should plan for a bit longer for windy highways, road construction, and weather.
There are many beautiful stops along this route, so take your time and enjoy this drive!
Driving From Saskatoon Saskatchewan
---
Via Hwy 7 and 9 through Calgary, Alberta
Then follow Trans Canada Hwy 1 to Sicamous, and Hwy 97 south to Kelowna BC An alternate route from Saskatoon is via Hwy 16 west to Edmonton and then drive south to Calgary.
This is better highway, with four lanes a lot of the way.

You can customize any of these Google travel maps to add or change driving distances between two cities that may not be in the maps we've created here.
For example, if you are driving from North Battleford, Saskatchewan to Calgary, and then to the Okanagan, you can simply add North Battleford to your map and the driving distance will be added on for you.
