There are about 15 Central Okanagan campgrounds & RV parks to choose from. You'll find these in a variety of locations from quiet beach fronts to some city campgrounds right in the midst of urban condo developments. Though it seems kind of strange - many used to be considered the 'outskirts' of the city which was once mainly orchard and agricultural land - they are still fairly close to the beaches.
Most campgrounds & RV parks in the Okanagan Valley operate on a seasonal basis, generally open from April to October, but some are actually open year round. The busiest times (obviously) are summer and the long weekend holidays from May to September. From our own experience making reservations at any Okanagan campground well in advance is really recommended.
Many family oriented will playgrounds and other amenities, and some have outdoor pools. Good family campgrounds in the area, though, are getting harder and harder to find.
Others are adult-oriented only, and most offer Free WiFi. If you have a pet, be sure to bring along a leash and check with the campground you're interested in to ensure they even allow pets as some do not.
