And kids 7 and under ski FREE! Apex Mountain Ski Resort FeaturesApex Ski Resort is open from early December to the beginning of April, generally speaking. In addition to the excellent mountain features, Apex is host to World Cup Mogul Course and World Cup Aerial Site! 2009 season brings skiers from all over the world to practice for the 2010 Olympics!
In the village you'll find a cafeteria, snack shop and restaurant, as well as a gift shop, and rental equipment shop. And you can ski right out onto the hill from the village.
There are 67 trails with different skill levels: - The easiest trails (Green Runs) are the Grandfather trail from the top of the quad lift, and from the triple chair, the Whipsaw, Dewdney, Finger, Greenhorn's Traverse, and Village Traverse. - Blue Runs, or intermediate, like the Juniper, Ridge Run, Wild Bill, Gambit, Stagecoach, Lucky Strike, and Sluice Box are fun! - And there's plenty of Black Diamonds and Double Blacks for those seeking more challenge and thrill. You'll want Sweet Sue, Tooth Tusk, Toilet Bowl, The Great Wall and Sun Bowl for single black, or Winchester, Buckshot, Dirty Harry, Gun Barrel and K2, to name a few! Tim Horton's Tube Park is located next to the Mountain Shop in the village and features 4 chutes that will send you flying down the hill. It's a very popular activity for all ages, and is open in the evenings on weekends too! Adult lift tickets for Apex Ski Resort are about $60/person for a full day and $44 for a half day of skiing. Teens play for $49 and $36 respectively and kids 7 & under are Free. Nickel Plate Nordic Center near Apex Ski Resort has groomed trails for classic and skate skiing, backcountry and snowshoe trails, day lodge kitchen, eating lounge areas, separate heated washrooms, shower facilities and rental equipment. It's absolutely beautiful up here! And if you're up at Apex Mountain, you should take an afternoon and explore the center.
